"Our house flooded in 2025 due to excessive groundwater that flowed into the basement that we later discovered came through abandoned fuel lines we were unaware of. We called our insurance agent, the office of Kaitlyn McGilvary for assistance and they stated they would send us a list of contacts who could help us. They apparently forgot to look at our file and notice that we live in Fairbanks, and not Anchorage, so every contact they sent me was 6 hours away, minimum. Eventually, fed up with the lack of useful information, I called around myself and finally got in touch with people to look at our foundation and discovered the issue. The claims process was awful, I was passed around to multiple different claims adjusters with minimal notification until I finally got some answers that they would be out to view our property and give an assessment. He let me know that likely the damage wouldn’t be covered due to our policy, but that he was working to find a solution. The office of Kaitlyn McGilvray was completely unhelpful in getting our claims agent the information he needed. I had to personally call, and talk to their snooty assistant and tell him to call my claims adjuster so we could move forward. The claim ended up not being covered which the adjuster told me to expect, and he did a great job doing everything he could to try and find us coverage. Meanwhile, throughout this whole process, I did not receive a single call, text, email, smoke signal, carrier pigeon, or anything checking in on how the process was going, and if we needed any further assistance. The customer service from the office of Kaitlyn McGilvary was non existent, and every time I called for help or an update, it seemed like I was a nuisance and they had better things to do. We have since switched agents, hopefully they can correct the reputation we now have for State Farm. I would not recommended anyone use Kaitlyn McGilvary as an insurance agent, the performance of their agency was not only surprising, but extremely disappointing. Even from a human to human standpoint, business aside, we had been using them for years, and I expected some level of concern based on that alone, but I was wrong."

"Hey Mason. I am very sorry to hear about this and as the Agent of the business that worries me. This is the 1st i've heard of any issues with your families insurance. I do have a big team so I am unsure who exactly you talked to. I can definitely see the error of sending you contacts closer to where we are rather than Fairbanks. When a claim happens we try to help connect customers with contacts we've made over the years after other great experiences, but in Fairbanks we just don't have any contacts. From there it's always best to google and look at reviews. That is something that if you asked, we would have done for you although not quite our job description, but we've done this in the past.... Unfortunately, with ground water, insurance companies just don't cover that. I wish that there was something that we could add in order to do so, but there just isn't. And as for claims, claims doesn't keep up in the loop when it comes to how your claim is going. I used to have my team check in on all the claims and see how it's going, but to be honest, fast forward to 2025, I would have to hire someone to just handle those claim calls to keep up and I can't afford to do that. Claims has a job for a reason and that's their lane. If ever any of my customers don't understand something or need us for clarification, we 100% are in their corner. There is a huge issue with keeping claims adjusters working in Alaska which is why most people get shuffled and it's been a problem for years, but not something that I manage or can help fix.. That is on the company and they are aware it's a problem. Hiring and keeping employees in most companies are a problem for the past several years. As for my team, I also have MANY newer employees too trying to learn all the things. So, when something like this happens and a customer is upset about something, I always ask customers to let me know so I can train, teach, and handle it. It sounds like someone was trying to help you, but then another didn't quite know the process but I promise, NO customer is a bother to us EVER. As for your claims adjuster, when someone says they are trying to get in contact and you need our help, our process is the exact same process as you. We have no hoops we can jump through that you don't. Now if you are still not getting that response, we then email the claims adjuster and their boss and from there we can get more help, usually but not always. I am sorry that you had this experience and I can promise it will be dealt with if that still means anything. It will be easier for you having an agent closer to home, but if you have some of these same problems, please reach out to the owner of the business so they can put the fire out and help teach the process to their team. An owner can't help customers if they don't know that a customer is frustrated and needs help. With you and Olivia all the best. :)"

"I worked with Chrissy and I can’t say enough good things about her. She knew her stuff and was able to catch issues with other insurance quotes I had during my home purchase process. I’ve never been a risk taker, and I didn’t realize that I was lacking important coverages for my home quote from this other company. (I don’t want to badmouth any company so I’ll leave the name off this review). She was very quick at responding to any questions I’ve had and did a great job explaining what every coverage covers and doesn’t cover. I can see myself staying with State-farm for the foreseeable future, and will be changing my car insurance over as well. Thank you Chrissy! You and your teammates are awesome!"

"I am not a person who overwhelmingly gives rave reviews, but Kaitlyn and her team provided me great service. I worked out the details of my automobile policy with them over the phone. It went very well! They provided me excellent coverage at a great price. They provide me detailed information about automobile policies that were previously were not explained to me. "I had an excellent experience working with Aaron Pawlik at Kaitlyn McGilvray State Farm. I needed to get car insurance for my 16-year-old daughter, who just got her license, and Aaron was incredibly helpful and patient throughout the entire process. He walked me through all the coverage options, making sure we had the right protection for a new driver. Adding a teen to a policy can be overwhelming, but Aaron made everything smooth and stress-free. "Chrissy assisted me with a new homeowners policy for my condo. The process was so easy, she had everything worked out that all I had to do was review it and give it the green light. Communication was excellent throughout. The price was also excellent, it actually was HALF the price of what another company (that I use for auto, but not for long) quoted me! "When my State Farm agent in Anchorage retired, my insurance policies were transferred to Kaitlyn McGilvray's, whose office is in Wasilla. Since I live close to 40 miles away in Anchorage, I considered requesting the polices to be transferred to an agent located a mile from my home, but decided to give her office a try. I am happy that I did. From my very first phone call, I have found the office staff kind and responsive to my needs, whether it is to answer my questions, assist with new policies or respond to left phone messages.
